REPORT


HISTORY: Shoulder pain.

FINDINGS: There is severe glenohumeral joint osteoarthritis with bone-on-bone apposition, subchondral sclerosis, and osteophytes. There is flattening of the articular surface of the humeral head attributed to chronic impaction. Radiodense focus is seen in the proximal humeral metaphysis possibly reflective of a nonaggressive cartilaginous lesion.

Incidental note is made of a questionable irregular density projecting over the periphery of the left lung apex as seen on the outlet view. This measures approximately 17 x 10 mm.

IMPRESSION:

Marked glenohumeral joint osteoarthritis without acute osseous abnormality.

Possible parenchymal radiodensity in the periphery of the left upper lobe as described; CT of the thorax is recommended for further evaluation.
