Here's another example of a complicated cyst.
0:03
This was a call back from a screening mammogram
0:06
and there was a focal asymmetry on mammogram,
0:09
and then in the upper outer left breast
0:11
at 2 o'clock, 12cm from the nipple,
0:13
we see this complicated cyst
0:16
and was given a BI-RADS 3 with recommendation for a six month follow up.
0:20
We also saw, at the same location,
0:24
a morphologically normal intramammary lymph nodes.
0:26
You can see that here.
0:30
So there were two findings at the same location,
0:32
an intramammary lymph node and a complicated cyst.
0:34
Now, the intramammary lymph node was given a BI-RADS 2,
0:38
and the complicated cyst was given a BI-RADS 3.
0:41
So the patient came back six months later and we did an ultrasound exam at that same
0:45
location, left breast, 2 o'clock, 12cm from the nipple.
0:48
We see that morphologically normal intramammary lymph node again,
0:54
but that complicated cyst is no longer there.
0:56
So the cyst has completely resolved.
0:58
That is very reassuring.
1:00
We're able to switch the study
1:03
to a BI-RADS 2 with a resolution of that BI-RADS 3 finding.
